Join me for an epic journey through France, Italy and Switzerland!
Let’s go on an unforgettable trek, the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB), completing 71 miles of this legendary circular trek. You’ll knock out trekking through 3 different countries as we pass through France, Italy, and Switzerland! We’ll start and end in Les Houches/Chamonix. We’ll complete the loop in 7 days enjoying stunning alpine scenery, glaciers, and quaint mountain villages. Our luggage will be transferred for us each day to our daily designation, a lovely bed and breakfast tucked away in some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. This trek requires excellent fitness as it is considered moderate to strenuous, but the beauty and the wonder experienced each day will make it totally worth it!
DAILY ITINERARY:
Day 0 – This is our travel day.
After an overnight flight (not included) we’ll be staying overnight in Chamonix, France, the beginning of our three country adventure.
Day 1 – Chamonix to Les Contamines-Montjoie
Hiking: 10 miles · 7 hrs
Begin in Les Houches, the traditional start of the Tour du Mont Blanc. Take the Bellevue cable car and hike across the Col de Tricot, passing waterfalls from the Bionnassay Glacier before descending to the alpine village of Les Contamines-Montjoie for the night.
Day 2 – Les Contamines to Les Chapieux
Hiking: 12.5 miles · 9 hrs
Climb past Notre Dame de la Gorge and over the Col du Bonhomme, enjoying sweeping alpine views and rustic farmhouses along the way. Descend through flower-filled meadows to the peaceful hamlet of Les Chapieux.
Day 3 – Les Chapieux to Courmayeur
Hiking: 9.5 miles · 6.5 hrs
Ascend to the Col de la Seigne and cross into Italy, where dramatic views of Mont Blanc’s southern face unfold. Continue through the Val Veny to reach the stylish alpine town of Courmayeur.
Day 4 – Courmayeur to Val Ferret
Hiking: 12.5 miles · 8.5 hrs
Follow panoramic trails through Val Ferret, surrounded by the towering Grandes Jorasses and Dent du Géant. Continue along alpine paths to your mountain hut where you’ll stay overnight.
Day 5 – Rifugio Elena to La Fouly
Hiking: 8 miles · 6.5 hrs
Climb to the Grand Col Ferret and cross into Switzerland, taking in breathtaking views of glaciers and rugged peaks. Descend through lush pastures and pine forests to the charming village of La Fouly.
Day 6 – La Fouly to Trient via Champex-Lac
Hiking: 10 miles · 6 hrs
Walk through traditional Swiss hamlets to Champex-Lac, then climb to Alpage de Bovine for stunning views and a homemade treat. Descend through woodland trails to the colourful village of Trient.
Day 7 – Trient to Chamonix (France)
Hiking: 8 miles · 7 hrs
Make the final climb to the Col de Balme and cross back into France. Enjoy sweeping views of Mont Blanc and the Chamonix Valley before descending to Le Tour, where your unforgettable circuit ends.
Day 8 – Travel home with the memories of a lifetime!

*Single occupancy means you get a lodging room all to yourself. Double means you’re sharing lodging.
